Bakithi

Bakithi is an immersive feature-length documentary that explores the extraordinary life and musical journey of bassist Bakithi Kumalo. For the first time, Bakithi tells his story in his words — taking audiences on an incredible journey from his turbulent childhood in apartheid-era South Africa to his groundbreaking collaborations with the artists Paul Simon, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, and Aretha Franklin. The film is currently in production.
